Winchell Neighborhood BBQ

Please join us for our 9th Annual Winchell Picnic!

What do you have when you mix together wonderful weather, wonderful cooperation, wonderful neighbors, wonderful food and wonderful fun?  Another Wonderful Winchell Picnic!  The turnout was record-breaking for our 8th Annual Winchell Picnic on September 15.  We estimate that we served between 500 and 600 people!  It was especially gratifying to see so many neighbors who were not associated with the school or our church.  When it comes to responding to the lifestyles and needs of our neighbors and inviting them to experience our fellowship, this annual event truly hits the mark!  Thank you to all of our members who participated.

ALPHA

Alpha is a ten-week opportunity to explore the validity and relevance of the Christian faith for our lives today.  It is a practical introduction to the basics of Christianity with loads of opportunity for debate and discussion. The style of Alpha is informal, friendly and non-pressured.  After the presentation there is a time for small group interaction.  A retreat is offered midway through the course.  This focuses on the person and work of the Holy Spirit.  The retreat has been a key part of the ALPHA course and a great success in helping people get to know one another.  Alpha is offered in the fall and spring.  The Spring '08 session begins with a kick off dinner on Thursday, February 14.  All classes are on Thursday evenings and begin with supper at 6 o'clock.  Nursery provided.

For further information contact Pat Stromsta (pstromsta@3rdcrc.org) or click here for the ALPHA web site.
